False police report, theft Anthony Louis Metz, 19, of 1397 E. Fairlane in Fayetteville, who was arrested July 19 on a rape charge for allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old girl, has been arrested on additional charges of filing a false police report and theft in an unrelated case.

On April 18, Metz told police that the Sonic Drive-in at 1801 N. Crossover Road in Fayetteville had been robbed by an unknown male with a handgun. Metz was working for Sonic at the time, according to the report.

On April 26, Metz was detained following a traffic stop, and police found about $ 1, 000 in the trunk, which he denied was related to the robbery. The police report states information was obtained from an informant in reference to Metz being involved with the Sonic theft.

The theft and filing a false report charges allege Metz made false claims about how Sonic was robbed and took the money himself.
