11-year-old All-Stars win, fall in regional

The Fayetteville 11-yearold All-Stars won its first game Monday but lost its second to end a run in the Cal Ripken Southwest Regional in Bay St. Louis, Miss.
Fayetteville beat Zachary, La., 8-4, but then fell in the second game of pool play to Little Rock, 13-7.
Blake Power and Josh Boushelle hit home runs in the win to open the day, while Andy Pagnozzi and J. C. Tune had two hits apiece. Pagnozzi picked up the win on the mound.
In the loss, Power and Jackson Mitchell homered, and Bryan Soth and Pagnozzi accumulated two hits for the No. 1 seed Fayetteville All-Stars. Little Rock scored 9 runs in the first inning and Fayetteville clawed back within 9-6 before ultimately falling in the elimination game.
