BENTONVILLE — As construction on the Bentonville Square is completed, two four-way stops are being monitored by the city for traffic and safety reasons.
As part of construction during the Downtown Square Enhancement Project, temporary four-way stops were placed at the intersection of Northwest A and Second streets, as well as at the intersection of Main and South Second streets.
But the city’s Traffic and Signage Committee voted Monday to keep the temporary four-way stops for at least 30 more days, transportation engineer Mike Churchwell said.
The committee “ voted to leave them up for another month to monitor and then make a decision whether or not to make (the stops ) permanent, ” Churchwell said.
The committee will make a decision at its Nov. 3 meeting on whether the stops will go back to being two-way stops.
Meanwhile, motorists are required to adhere to the traffic signs.
