Work session set for Bentonville

BENTONVILLE Test scores lots and lots of test scores will come before the Bentonville School Board on Wednesday night.
The board will meet from 5: 30 until about 8: 30 for its quarterly work session. Work sessions are planning meetings during which the board discusses a wide variety of issues. Consensus can be reached on issues to give administrators direction, but no binding board votes are taken. The work session will be at the Central Administration Office, 500 Tiger Blvd.
The biggest item on the agenda, said Superintendent Gary Compton, is to review testing data from the 2007-2008 school year. Calling it the best testing data since (hes ) been here, Compton said there are some wonderful success stories and a few opportunities for improvement.
The board will also do the following:
Hear an update on the Bentonville Public Schools Foundation;
Discuss board goals for the upcoming school year;
Receive an update on upgrades on various school facilities; and
Receive results of the National School Board Survey.
