Banquet has a new line of frozen entrees named Select Recipes. They’re a little bit bigger than their original line of TV dinners, and are available in seven flavors — Chicken Parmesan, Classic Fried Chicken, Enchilada Combo, Herb Grilled Chicken, Home-Style Pot Roast, Slow Cooked Beef and Smothered Burrito. Select Recipes are made with a variety of meats, vegetables and flavor additions, such as shredded cheese. They retail for about $ 1. 50 each, and should be available at most major supermarkets.

LUSCIOUS LOW-CAL I recently tried the new Chex Mix Bars, and found them to be so flavorful and decadent that it’s hard to believe they only have 150 calories per bar. They’re available in two varieties Turtle, made with Wheat and Corn Chex cereals, peanuts, pretzels, chocolate and caramel. Chocolate Chunk made with chunks of chocolate, Wheat and Corn Chex, and pretzels.

Chex Mix Bars should be found on your grocer’s snackbar aisle, retailing for about $ 3. 20 for a box of six.

NEW WATER FLAVORS The folks at Hint Inc. recently unveiled four new flavors in the company’s line of bottled water that already includes Mango-Grapefruit, Pomegranate-Tangerine, Lime, Raspberry-Lime, Peppermint, Pear, Tropical Punch, Cucumber and Strawberry Kiwi. The new flavors are Hibiscus Vanilla, Watermelon, Honeydew Hibiscus and Blackberry. They’re sold in 16-ounce containers that retail for about $ 1. 80 each, or $ 44 for a case of 24. Hint water is sold at Whole Foods stores, or you can order online through the company’s Web site, www. drinkhint. com. READY RICE, CAJUN STYLE I’m a big fan of the precooked rice in the stores today, especially Uncle Ben’s brand. The company recently added to its Ready Rice line with a new Cajun style flavor, a combination of long-grain rice, Cajun seasonings, red beans and bell peppers. All you have to do is microwave the rice in the pouch for about 90 seconds and it’s table-ready, or you can use the rice as an addition to casseroles or stir-fries. Ready Rice should be sold at most major supermarkets, retailing for $ 2 to $ 2. 50 for an 8. 8-ounce pouch. Product suggestions ? Tips ? E-mail rboggs@arkansasonline. com
