WHAT: V 8 Soup STATS: Varies widely by flavor. One cup contains between 80 and 150 calories and between 1 1 / 2 and 3 fat grams. Two servings per container.
THE SKINNY: V 8 isn’t just for sipping anymore. It’s also for slurping.
The brand name now appears on a line of boxed ready-to-heatand-eat soups sold in five quitefilling varieties: Garden Broccoli, Golden Butternut Squash, Southwestern Corn, Sweet Red Pepper and Tomato Herb, each claiming to contain a full serving of vegetables per cup.
We sampled and savored all but one of the flavors (we haven’t spotted the red pepper yet ) — the robust tomato, fullbodied broccoli and the complex butternut squash.
It figures that our favorite taste-wise — the creamy, kicky Southwestern Corn — would also be the most caloric. For the 150 calories and three fat grams in one helping of the corn, we could have two helpings of our favorite soup nutrition-wise, the broccoli (80 calories, 1 1 / 2 fat grams ).
